About Our Founders

Biographies of our Founders:

James D. Bartlett, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. After a 30-year career in high-technology, Jim co-founded Arise Energy Solutions to help Coloradoans reach their objectives for lower energy costs and smaller carbon footprints through renewable energy solutions. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in communications, then studied engineering and business in graduate programs during his career in senior management and executive roles at IBM, NEC, Philips, and StorageTek. After leading a successful turn-around as EVP & COO of a publicly traded high-tech corporation, Jim ran a management consulting practice and served as VP of business development for a leading software company.  In 2008, he finally left corporate America to launch a successful remodeling and handyman services company that still operates today, delivering affordable residential and commercial services as a general contractor.  As Jim observed the significant improvements in solar energy and wind energy generation technology, coupled with Federal and local incentives making it dramatically more attractive, it rekindled the passion for renewable energy he first expressed as a high school science fair finalist.  That passion led to AES – a business launched with his colleague, Tim Meisinger.  Today Jim, a NABCEP Certified Solar Photovoltaic Installer, enjoys meeting with clients and helping them determine the best approaches to achieving their solar energy or wind energy objectives.  When not meeting with clients, designing photovoltaic solar solutions or managing the back-office side of the business, Jim burns his “personal energy” competing in Taekwondo, scuba diving, skiing, reading, and playing piano.  Jim and his wife Michele have two grown children and live in Littleton Colorado.

Timothy J. Meisinger, Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer. Tim co-founded Arise Energy Solutions to advance the usage of renewable energies in the solar-rich and wind-rich environment of the Colorado Front Range.  As well as preserving the natural resources of our planet, Tim truly enjoys the technical aspect of solar energy.  He enjoys voltage calculations, adjusting for temperature coefficients, and all the other technical facets of designing and integrating a solar energy array.  Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences with minors in physics and chemistry from the University of Denver. He is also a NABCEP Certified Solar Photovoltaic Installer.  Tim spent the last twelve years of his career working as the head of compliance and operations for an institutional investment firm in Denver, CO, where he was responsible for all aspects of regulatory compliance, trade operations, information technology, human resources, and financial management of the firm.  Since leaving the financial services industry, Tim has returned to his passion for science.  Tim lives in Littleton, Colorado where he loves spending time with his wife and four children.
